Fathomless Depths is a short, text-based narrative adventure game combining my love of HP Lovecraft with my equal passion for giant robots punching things. It thrusts the player into the role of captain of the giant submersible mecha Trident, which they must command to defeat the undersea horrors known as "Eldrimorphs" while keeping themselves and their crew alive (and hopefully sane).Â
While Developing fathomless Depths, I had to keep careful track of all the different decisions that could be made & account for all the possible permutations of the story. Even for a small project like this, it was an undertaking!
One of my main goals with Fathomless Depths was to ensure players would be able to meaningfully impact the narrative. The plot's direction is shaped in direct response the their choices, ensuring player agency.
